Acquisition of Keystone Bakeries

Maplehurst Bakeries, a leading producer of bakery products for in-store bakeries, is pleased to announce that effective September 24, 2010, it has expanded its product portfolio with the purchase of Keystone Bakeries and its three subsidiaries: Freed’s Bakery of Manchester, NH, a supplier of frozen, fully finished iced cupcakes; Granny’s Kitchens of Frankfort, NY, a leading supplier of pre-fried and thaw & sell donuts; and Heartland Bakery of Du Quoin, IL, a specialty supplier of thaw & sell cookies.
Based in Brownsburg, IN, Maplehurst Bakeries brings over 40 years of in-store bakery expertise to its retail customers. The acquisition further supports Maplehurst’s vision to be known by its customers as a trusted, solution-oriented partner who is instrumental in making their in-store bakeries a success. Maplehurst enjoys the further support of parent company George Weston Limited, operating George Weston Foods, Canada’s largest fresh and frozen baking company with extensive manufacturing facilities throughout North America.
