Freed’s Bakery was founded 1921 as a retail bakery in downtown Manchester, New Hampshire and it remained unchanged for more than 60 years. Only in 1985 did Freed’s begin supplying a few select items to local supermarkets, and business quickly expanded. Within a few years, Freed’s products were being sold in most major supermarkets in New England.

To support this growth and to continue their expansion, a state-of-the-art wholesale production facility was built in Manchester in 1996. Since then Freed’s has grown to be the largest supplier of iced and decorated cupcakes to the in-store bakery industry nationwide.

We may have grown, but we have never stopped caring about our customers. All of our cupcakes from Freed’s Bakery are designated as “Made in peanut-free facility.” This means that no peanuts or tree nuts are warehoused at our Manchester facility, and no peanuts or tree nuts are used to manufacture any of the products we create there. Likewise, none of our equipment is used to manufacture any products containing peanuts or tree nuts.
